REGIONAL FARM, BAJO

Profile
Bajo farm was established in 1985 for production of cereals and vegetables under the erstwhile National Seeds and Plants Program (NASEPP). The Farm is located next to Research & Development Centre (RDC), Bajo in Wangdiphodrang at an altitude of 1200 masl. The farm is presently managed by Regional Manager, Farm Manager, RSG Co-ordinator and 7 farm labourers and has a total area of 13.70 acres.

Responsibilities
> Bajo is the focal farm for production of vegetables (tomatoes, mustard green, carrot, radish, cauliflower and spinach), mid altitude rice, mustard and wheat seeds.
> Production and maintenance of basic and foundation seeds of the focal crops.
> Production of certified seeds of focal crops in collaboration with Registered Seed Growers of west-central region.
> Processing and packaging of cereals seeds.
> Oversee and coordinate seed production activities of Phobjikha and Nangsiphel Farms.
> Storing and supply of seeds and fertilizers to west-central region (Wangdue, Punakha, Gasa, Tsirang & Dagana).
